As a charity ride, a big part of our event is raising money for our causes. Your entry fee goes to cover the expenses of running the event – from insurance and permits, to volunteer appreciation and rider experience, not to mention the need to retain some seed-funding to start things up next year. There really is not much left over to contribute to the causes based on residual rider fees.

Also note that no member of the TC4H committee is paid. We all volunteer our time to this event because we believe that by galvanizing the cycling community around this event, we can encourage support to our charities while having fun and feeling good about it at the same time.

We have two amazing recipients of our fundraising: the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (to BC Children’s Heart Unit) and the Children’s Heart Network. While fundraising by riders is not mandatory, it is very much encouraged. This year we have made it even easier for you to get started on setting a fundraising goal and collecting donations. We created of our own in-house rider fundraising site that does-away with the processing fees of our previous commercial fundraising system, so more funds go directly toward the causes.

So while you are training your cycling legs, how about stretching your fundraising arms? Create your profile, set your target, challenge your fellow riders and give fundraising for our charities a whirl!

Our Thank You to Riders Who Fundraise
